Born in Abbington, Pennsylvania, Doug Filter spent most of his formative years and early adult life on the East Coast in Delaware and Pennsylvania. He even “lived” in NYC for a short time (two weeks!)!

Doug has been singing his entire life surrounded by a father who sings tenor as well, a sister who is a magical pianist, and two additional sisters who rounded out the melodies by the piano year after year. Doug participated in church choirs and praise teams since his early years and sang in high school choirs and musicals throughout school. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio while singing in the Concert Chorale and Swordbearers Travel Team.

Doug has performed in various musicals, recorded with the Foothills Bible Church and the Rocky Mountain Praise Singers, sang with the Lamont Men’s Choir at the University of Denver and other elite choirs. He sings with the Denver First Church choir and praise team. Recent solo performances include singing for local weddings, funerals and at the 2010 Jefferson County Prayer Breakfast.

Doug married the love of his life, Melissa, in 1989. The two of them moved to Pennsylvania in 1990 where they began their respective careers. Lauren was born in 1993 and April joined the family in 1995. The Filter Family enjoyed participating in their local church choir and praise team. Finally, the draw of beautiful Colorado called them to move west in 2002! They have been thriving in Littleton, Colorado ever since!

Doug is thrilled to join the Legacy Quartet and serve Jesus in such an amazing ministry!
